2 months have passed and i still havent had my netbook replaced!!… samsung customer support is painfully slow :(… im hoping that once i get my replacement it won’t break
[/quote1262430202]That’s dreadful service. I trust you have complained at the highest level and I would demand an immediate replacement!
Which service department is handling your warranty issue?jeepers01
Participantiyc_nyc – Did you test the sammy output wth headphones as dockehr suggested and presumably the output was correct and no buzzing?
Have you checked that the run of the cable, between sammy and the tv, is away from mains cables. It might be an idea to re-route the cable and test again. ie. if it is running across the floor, cables may well be underneath it and the video cable screening may be not that efficient. Just an idea because it sounds to me like a mains buz/hum problem.
Another thing to check is, does it do it when the sammy is plugged into the mains or on battery or both?
Hope this helps

Thanks again jeepers01 :)[/quote1262387485]Your welcomeQuote:I was just about to post that I suffered serveral FF crashes but no Windows crashes when Windows just crashed as well… My only hope is trying the 1GB RAM now. If this doesn’t work I will re-install Windows (I haven’t done this yet as I don’t have an external CD drive and haven’t looked up how I can configure a bootable USB drive). If this doesn’t work out I will have to send my Sammy to repair which I really want to avoid as I doubt that they will fix it… 🙁Did you try the video chrome drivers as suggested by plevi in his post above? I believe that has helped a few forum members with machine crashes as there appear to be several driver versions.
As you have checked out the ram with memtest successfully the video driver is perhaps a possible solution. However try also your 1BG ram module as well.
You can re-install the system without an external CD drive by pressing F4 at boot up and then choosing Full Recovery with the Samsung Recovery Solution software. You will loose all data on the C: drive though so make backups before doing the restore.
Quote:Btw. jeepers, I’m sorry my English isn’t that good so what do you mean by “be careful to observe anti-static precautions”? Do you mean not to shake it all around? 😀 It might have been shaken in my bag when I went back home with the new packed RAM from just buying it but I doubt this causes a damage of the RAM? I know this question must sound silly hehe.Don’t apologise for you english it does you proud. The anti-static precautions is where the body builds up an electrical charge which can damage electrical components such as ram modules. These electrical charges can be earthed on a water pipe for example but when you handle the ram try not to touch the contacts or any components with your fingers. There is a better explanation here which may help.
btw: don’t worry, there is no such thing as a silly question on this forum 🙂

Participantbaruch – Welcome to the forum
Afraid I don’t use a Kensington lock but from what you describe it does sound like a bit of a design oversight 🙂January 1, 2010 at 10:09 pm in reply to: [N120] Happy Healthy Wealthy and Contented New Year 2010 Extra Best wishes to all SammyNetbook. #208544jeepers01

Participantrapture1980 – Welcome to the forum
It sounds like you are using an old version of IM.
Try installing Windows Live Messenger ie. the latest version which is now not compatible with earlier versions.Let us know how you find the sound quality in video calls.
Hope this helps

Participantheelsfinl4 – Update Plus is notoriously unreliable and many other forum members have found this too. I don’t use it.
My advice FWIW is if your wifi is working well at the moment – don’t change the driver.
If you want to check your installed driver versions and see if later versions are available use DriverMax.com. Then download the required drivers from the Samsung Download site and install.
But my motto is “if it aint broke don’t fix it” and it serves me well 🙂
Hope this helps
