Jeepers01,Did you unistall IE…?[/quote1263848902]No, I keep it for use occasionally, mainly for website compatibility issues.
I have un-installed Safari and Chrome though.

Participantlefty – Excellent news.
Do let us know the final outcome 🙂

ParticipantBlizzardCyclone – The two options on SRS4 are:
[Complete Backup] backs up the current status of the entire C: drive.
[Data Backup] is a function that saves user data to a specified location. You have already backed up the data/programs so keep that safe although you should not need it unless you also backed up data on the D: drive as well.
Carry out a Complete (Full) backup of the C: drive to external media (HDD or DVD) which will be your backup of Win 7SE and all the other contents of the C: drive.
For extra security you could also do a complete image backup of all drive partitions with software such as Acronis True Image.
There is also a hidden recovery partition installed on the drive and it would be best not to delete this if possible. There is a facility to enter the SRS software by pressing F4 at machine boot and this will allow restoration of the complete system (including Win 7SE) from the recovery partition. So this gives you another potential backup.
The only potential problem is that installing another operating system can change the MBR (Master Boot Record) so the F4 option fails to work. However that can be fixed with other utility software if you want to use the F4 function in the future.
In short you can never have enough backups, try to keep two at least just in case 🙂
Hope this helps

ParticipantBlizzardCyclone – Welcome to the forum
If you used Samsung Recovery Solution to do a full backup then this will have backed up your entire Win 7SE installation on the C: drive. Hence if you restore from this backup then you will restore the machine back with Win 7SE complete with all programs and drivers.
Hope this helps

Have a look at outnumbered post in this thread where diy details are given on how to fix the lcd ribbon connector connections as it sounds like you have exactly the same problem
White screen (of death?)If you don’t feel confident about carrying out the repair yourself you would probably be best contacting your local PC repair shop for a quotation
Hope this helps and let us know how you get on

Is the system beep totally random or does it tend to happen when running a particular application or group of applications?

Participantdavid419 – I use Firefox 3.5.7 because I find it has the best options for customising with many Add-ons available
FWIW these are my current Add-ons
Cache Status
Configuration Mania
Fasterfox Lite
Fission
Flagfox
NoScript
RAMBack
Skype extensions
Smart Bookmarks Bar
Tiny Menu
Tweak Network
User Agent Switcher
Yet Another Smooth ScrollingI generally disable the Add-ons I am not using and enable as required.
It’s not now the fastest browser around but it suits me. I tend to keep many tabs open and at close down exit with file save. At next startup the load time is increased but it gets you back to where you were reasonably quickly. Else I use hibernate which is obviously much faster.
Faster less configurable browsers are Google Chrome (alleged to be the fastest) and Safari.
I find IE 8 to be about the same as Firefox as far as speed is concerned.
Hope this helps

Thanks for posting your impressions of the N210 🙂

ParticipantMalachi – Out of interest what hard drive is fitted in your N210 as it appears to perform well in the WEI statistics.

ParticipantWhile we are comparing Win 7 WEI statistics I thought I’d post the results from my NC10 FWIW
2.2 – processor
4.4 – RAM (Kingston PC2 5300)
2.2 – graphics
3.0 – gaming graphics
5.5 – hard disk (Samsung HM160HI)Based on my 5.5 result I feel a ‘momentus drive’ to buy something that spins at 7200 rpm 😀

ParticipantThanks Jayne
I did read the previous thread regarding the blog promotion and thought about adding my post to that thread.
However, on reflection, I thought that the current issue is not totally on topic any more, but rather a continuing matter only loosely related to the original issue.
On that basis I decided to create a new thread so we could all look at it perhaps with fresh eyes.
Thanks for your support 🙂
