Participantbonsaiwillie – Welcome to the forum
Thanks for posting the good news but unfortunately elantraelite has already posted this information, but not to worry, as hopefully more forum members with Win 7SE will see it now 🙂

Participant[quote1263933980=aocidicoa]Another question, is it safe and reliable to install W7-PRO from a downloaded torrent ?[/quote1263933980]Welcome to the forum
Discussion about potentially illegal downloads/pirated software are not allowed on the forum as per the forum rules.
A purchased edition of Win 7 Home Premium should be enough to meet your needs.

Participantmonxster – Anything above 1024 x 600 and 1024 x 768 will scroll the screen, except in Win 7 which gives 1152 x 864 non scrolling.
Hope this helps

Participantmonxster – Samsung ERM will give 1024 x 768 non scrolling in both XP and Win 7.
You can switch off scrolling in XP by:-
Display Properties > Settings > Advanced > Monitor
Check the check box ” Hide modes that this monitor cannot display”In Win 7 the screen can be taken up to 1152 x 864 without scrolling. However AFAIK there is no corresponding facility in XP.
Hope this helps

Nice solution to have access to the tweaks from one place 🙂
I’m sure I remember vaguely something similar in Win95, but that was a long time ago 🙂

ParticipantDeucalion0 – Welcome to the forum
Win 7 runs well on the Atom netbooks and my NC10 (same spec as N110) is as fast as XP was, which was not slow at all.
I would suggest you first re-trace your steps and undo the ‘tweaks’ applied.
Check the startup programmes and disable all but the essential.
Run Malwarebytes to check for malware etc.
Consider replacing McAfee anti-virus (If you have it installed) with Microsoft Security Essentials.
Run Ccleaner – this may pick up more than Registry Mechanic?
Then run Auslogics disk defrag.
After that let us know how it runs but it may be that a complete re-install of Win 7 will be the only way to fully resolve it.
Hope this helps

ParticipantWalter Sobchak – Welcome to the forum
Have a look at this thread as it sounds like a mechanical fault with the lcd screen ribbon connection which needs attention.
Look for outnumbered post
Hope this helps and let us know how you get on

Just a random thought, but have you got Samsung EDS installed?
If so it might possibly be worth trying without it. -
