Participantegs – Try using BatteryBar I think it will really help you distinguish between the charging and charged states.
Hope this helps

The 6 cell NC10 is still the best choice in my opinion.
I know I’m biased because we have 2 of them but if I were looking for a replacement it would be very hard to find a better Samsung model if battery life was not taken into consideration.jeepers01

How did you upgrade SE to Ultimate, was it by the Windows Anytime Upgrade route?
If so Microsoft may well offer assistance by providing the media but there may be a small fee.The Samsung software can be downloaded from the download site.
Hope this helps

ParticipantSamsugo – Your welcome
I have found BatteryBar to be very accurate at determining the battery remaining time. If you cycle the battery down a few times it’s accuracy will improve as it learns the battery / power characteristics.
The Windows battery monitoring offering is poor as it tends to work ostensibly from seemingly instantaneous power readings and as such indications will fluctuate wildly depending on the power usage at the time the reading is taken.
BatteryBar appears to have quite a good algorithm and will predict and track the charge time remaining plus it will also calculate the re-charge time quite accurately as well.
On our NC10’s the predicted time will be accurate to within a few minutes.Extract from BatteryBar website….
Quote:BatteryBar constantly monitors the status of your battery as you use your laptop. As it monitors your battery, it keeps historical data on your battery and provide you with a very accurate estimate of how much time is remaining on your battery. All in all a very good and useful free application IMHO

thanks 😀 is this a common fault with this netbook? i have been on it now about 2 hours since getting it back and no flickers so hopefully its fixed now
[/quote1266362987]Put in the perspective that 1 million NC10’s have reportedly been sold then if it was a common problem I think we would know about it since the press seems to delight in reporting bad news. Those kind of stories tend to travel much faster than the good news ones which will in the main go unreported by the satisfied customers out there 🙂 -
