thnx for the response but, those files from samsung arn’t the ones i need.[/quote1266678898]The reason I posted the link was because you said in your earlier postQuote:I can use the computer but all of the Samsung features are goneThis would no doubt help to get your OS operational again by installing the software?
Quote:i’m needing the backup files that SAMSUNG RECOVERY SOLUTION uses… basically i’m trying to restore it to factory . with W7starter. etc. if there is a way to get those files, which i know is a far chance. only way i see it is if i can get a backup disk from samsung (which i can’t see ever getting) or a backup disk from someone that made one rite when they turned their n210 on. thanks though. You can get the media from Microsoft using the upgrade key you have already purchased.
Hope this helps

If you have the settings such that the battery is only charged to 80% capacity then this explains the 20% charge that appears to be missing. There is normally no memory effect with Li-ion batteries as was experienced with the old Ni-cad batteries.
On certain models Samsung software is include to limit the charge to 80% to extend the life of the battery. This may be the same for the NB30.
If you are looking to get the maximum charge time from the battery then disabling the charge limiting feature will extend the effective usage time.
Hope this helps

Participant[quote1266666438=t697]I’ve just installed BatteryBar on my NC10 and another laptop. It looks quite neat as described in these posts. It seems to display the capacity as 10 times the actual e.g. 52,000mWh instead of 5,200mWh.[/quote1266666438]I think you are confusing 5,200mWh with 5,200 mAh.
For a 6 cell battery on the NC10 the rated full capacity is 57Wh (5,200 mAH)
On my machine BatteryBar reports the actual capacity as 57,720 mWh which is correct. This is further reduced by the Battery Wear (9.6% in my case) which gives an actual capacity of 47,996 mWh
Hope this helps explain the difference

Hi!
I upgraded to Windows 7 (Ultimate) and since, when I press the FN keys nothing happens for a few seconds, and then it works.
Under XP it used to work instantly, but in Win 7 it’s really delayed…My Windows in tweaked to the teeth, and the rest is working really well, except for the FN keys.
What can I do?
Thanks!
[/quote1266665074]Try rolling back the tweaks or re-installing Samsung Easy Display Manager.Check the startup processes and consider changing the anti-virus if it is still McAfee.
Hope this helps

Participanttrackrat – If you have used the MS Anytime route for the upgrade then your recovery partition will be intact. The recovery partition will contain Win 7 Starter if the machine was supplied with Win 7 initially.
You can verify your recovery partition is still working by pressing F4 at boot up and checking that Samsung Recovery Solution starts up correctly.
It would be sensible to create a backup and the application Samsung Recovery Solution 4 can be run to do this from the Start menu. It would be prudent to do this backup to external media for security.
It would also be prudent to take a complete disc image to external media with software such as Acronis True Image or such like.
This might sound like overkill but as the sammys are not supplied with the OS media on DVD when the machines are sold it makes sense to have good backups in the event of problems.
Hope this helps and this guide may prove useful

Participantbemoo – Have you tried putting the old stick or RAM back in the machine?
It could be just a defective 2GB stick
Hope this helps
