ParticipantNiceCupOfTea_UK – The motto is to double check before you buy.
The NC110 UK models A03 and AO5 I’ve seen are dual core with the Intel N570 processor and with the newer clam styling
However the A01’s are single core with the Intel N455 processor and are generally a bit cheaper.
To add to the confusion the A02’s have the N550 dual core processors
Best advice is to do further research and check the box before parting with your hard earned 🙂Hope this helps

Participantmurian & fhantom – Welcome to the forum
In the absence of firm knowledge that the alternative Samsung software works there is always SpeedFan which may possibly be hardware compatible.
Hope this helps

ParticipantIskuri – Did you manage to resolve the issue in the end?

Participantelixis – I could be that the bios is not saving the settings or there is some corruption.
It may be worth trying a cmos reset.Short the RTC Reset pins with a screwdriver for 2 to 3 seconds.
Re-boot and save bios defaults ([F2] [F9] [F10])The pins are located under the ram module on the motherboard on the NC10, they might be in a different position on the NC110.
Hope this helps

Participantelixis – Does it boot on your other pc? and I wonder what it reports in the bios screen.
Hope this helps

Interesting !
My Bios shows as ‘Active’ components, the HDD (which is AHCI !) – My Vodafone Dongle (USB CD) and USB HDD (Generic USB Flash Drive) which is the bootable Linux USB I use…Unfortunately I cannot upload things to the SammyNetbook website else I’d have attached my own screen shot
I cannot even use my own photo for an Avatar, it will not upload (a PM please, if you know what I’m doing wrong, Jeepers Thanks)Post up a pic of your bios screen if you can (I’ve sent PM as requested). AHCI (Advanced Host Controller Interface) is available on more recent chipsets and is an implementation/enhancement of SATA (Serial ATA)
Hope this helps

Participantmacexperts – The Admin Tool just creates the Recovery partition ready to receive the compressed image (init.woo) made with the SRS application and sets the mbr so that [F4] functions. The tool is not available for general download.
Hope this helps

Participantmacexperts – Welcome to the forum
A system restore using SRS will only restore to the C: drive and the restore will be the image of the OS taken just after the machine was first set up. ie. from the Recovery partition. For a new drive the Recovery partition has to be built and this can be done with the Admin Tool.
If you have a system recovery media DVD with the machine it will probably be Win7 only.
Hope this helps

Participantelixis – This is the bios boot screen from the NC10 which may well be different to the NC110?
Do you have any different options available?
Worth checking that it is not excluded from the boot order. The 4GB SanDisk stick is only recognised as USB HDD. I remember a while back this was discussed on the forum and the more obvious USB KEY setting does not work for some reason.
The secret to getting it reconised is to boot to [F2] with the stick present as stated in the above posts.Hope this helps

Participantsnowman – If you are running in VirtualBox check the settings

Participantelixis – What I meant was, using another non bootable stick might allow the USB-HDD to be recognised and then selected with highest priority.
Hope this helps
