No, I never found the password. If you find yourself in “Winclon 4.0” I think you are in the wrong spot. (Abort.) Honestly, I can hardly remember anything, but according to my post I found a work around that did use the secos password. The work around was to install to the USB stick, boot off that, and THEN initiate a restore to the secret partition on the new SSD. I think if you follow my bulleted list very specifically, you will get it. The trick is if you try to deviate (as I was doing compared to other scenarios I found on the net), then you will run into problems.

MemberI read a bunch of these forums but found a few caveats while using SRSIII: First, the USB stick didn’t boot (marked “N/A” in bios) presumably because there was a U3 volume, because uninstalling that did the trick; second, no one explained what each step was doing under the hood, and I found myself in a screen no one has mentioned labeled “WinClon 4.0″ that required a password (not secos, or secclx), which was trying to use the WCL file to reconstruct 3 partitions on my replacement NC10 drive (which I later found out to be resolved by installing just to the secret recovery partition AND THEN from there to the system partition / C:); lastly, there was occasionally the assumption that one had ability to access the 2.5” simultaneously, which is only true if you have a special 2.5″IDE-to-USB cable (if you don’t have it, i’m not too sure clonezilla will do you much good). Also, everybody mentions version 4 or 5 and I’m using the “original” 3.0.0.6, which doesn’t seem to make a difference at all. Here’s my stab at explaining what’s going on, but I’m sure I also leave things out.
Samsung Netbook NC10. Installing SSD. Using SRS 3.0.0.6.
Scenario:
Lost Bootable disc (System Restore)
Clone of Original Version without cloning software on hand.
Clone without a 2.5″IDE-to-USB adapter (or drive enclosure)Need:
* Existing drive with Recovery Partition Intact
* SSD Drive
* Usb stick ~ 4GB. Blank.
* Screwdriver: #0 PhillipsCaveats/Optional:
* Create a current backup in the Recovery partition prior (with System Restore)
* Eliminate the USB “Cruzer” U3 System
(this may prevent from making a bootable USB stick).Procedure
1 Turn on NC10, Press F4 to get to “Recovery.”
Result: Displays “Windows Files Loading” and proceeds into “Samsung Recovery Solution.”
2 Insert USB Stick, if not already done so.
3 Press secret key-combo CTRL+ALT+F10, enter password “secos”
Result: New window unlocked, provides means to Backup image to a file (.wcl, .woo). Note this file will NOT be “current”, but instead be a file-based version of whatever image currently resides in the recovery partition (potentially initial system snapshot at time of ship/1st boot).
4A Choose “Create Admin USB Stick” and accept warnings about formatting the USB drive.
Result: This is the first privliged function: transferring the Recovery System onto a blank USB drive.
4B Choose “Export” and choose the location to be on the usb stick.
Result: This is the 2nd of 4 privileged functions: copying the current Hidden Recovery Partition’s image (of your particular install) into a package/file that can transcend the current drive.
5 Shutdown and Unscrew all screws (except memory panel) and open case. Requires some patience; watch a howto video if you get stumped.
6 Once inside, Remove Drive and Bracket, Install SSD.
7 Reboot and Press F2 in BIOS and change “USB Key” to boot primary to IDE HDD.
Note: At some point earlier in System Restore, I dropped to the “CMD” window and executed “diskpart” and the following commands: to “list volume”(s) and “select volume ” and make it “active”. I think this is not necessary, but revealed that my USB drive had >1 volumes and this was why it did not boot in this step. Assuming U3 System was not present, or had been removed, this should not be a problem.
8 Reboot again. If everything went right, booting off SSD will be impossible (it’s empty), but, the USB boot will take precedence.
Result: “System Restore” now boots from USB Drive.
9 From the “System Restore” that boots: Install the MBR to the newly installed SSD, and then create the System Recovery Partition, but do not bother trying to image all the partitions (this is an option via the CTRL+ALT+F10, but requires a 2nd password that is not secos).
Result: The image contained in the wcl, woo files will be installed into the “Hidden Recovery Partition” along with the bootable recovery system from Samsung and a MBR to start the drive (I believe the process should make it the active volume ala DISKPART’s “select volume 0” and “active” commands). These functions are the 3rd step that the administrative access allows you to transfer the Recovery System, and your System Snapshot onto the SSD disk.
10 Once the HIDDEN PARTITION is finished being created on the SSD, boot without USB to make sure SYSTEM RESTORE comes off of SSD.
11 Next, use CTRL+ALT+F10 to get to the “Export/Import” portion of the screen.
Result: The import option will list the restorable image that was placed on the HIDDEN PARTITION earlier. It is not pulling from the WCL, WOO image now. This is the 4TH OF 4 privileged functions.
12 Select that partition to import. It will unpack the Hidden Partition’s image onto the new C: and make a bootable copy of Windows XP (or whatever was installed) on the C: previously.
13 Reboot, hopefully into Windows.
