MemberOk guys I found it.
The problem was I had the linux partitions still there. It seems the recovery software was trying to find something there.
Reinstalling right now.
Thanks everybody for helping.

MemberAnd yes, I have tried all the usb ports.
This is very annoying.
Do I have any other alternative? The only thing I can think off is trying to dump the CD in an USB drive and install form there… but I have to read how to do it.
Any more help would be highly appreciated.

If the BIOS can detect the DVD drive the installation CD should run no problem? Have you tried the DVD drive in all three usb ports?
[/quote1238209727]This is very weird..
I can boot a linux livecd without problems but not the recovery CD.
I have tried two external usb drivers so far. What am I suppose to see after booting? Some graphical interface showing the installation progress?

I had the same issue and it turned out that the external dvd drive was somewhat incompatible to the installation process.
[/quote1238177143]Thanks Don_Audio,
That’s probably what happened… I’ll take a look to the recommended devices.
