I went out earlier and before going out I read somewhere about mcafee causing slow network speeds.

In fact it was here top google link for “slow network speed”. http://www.ads-links.com/index.php/how-to-fix-windows-vista-slow-network-transfer.html

I uninstalled the free mcafee that was on my netbook and used the tool available on mcafee’s site to completely remove it.

I just connected netbook to do the above tests and now I’m getting around 11 mb/sec transfer rate.

WTF? It seems a screwy program was causing it to run slow. Anyone know why?

Power cable plugged in. For some reason if I disable wifi I am no longer able to connect to the sammy at all.
