MemberIn the meantime, how do I connect my netbook to an external monitor? The connector on the monitor has two screws on the side, while my netbook does not have a place for those screws. What is the adapter/connector called that I need to look for?

alpha1 – Welcome to the forumIs the problem exacerbated by the movement of the lid?
If so then it could be caused by the lcd screen connector and or the wiring harness lead to the motherboard.
These threads have more details.
White screen (of death?)
need help lcd ribbon cable needs changing on nc10Alternatively try re-installing the graphics driver and maybe consider a cmos re-set.
What machine do you have and is it under warranty as it may be prudent to contact Samsung support.
Hope this helps
[/quote1274374391]Yes, I think the prolblem is entirely related to the movement of the screen. If I shut it down and wait a day, I can start it up and it will work fine. But I make sure not to move the screen. One exception was when I left it on and didn’t touch it for several hours. I came back and the white screen of death was back. I could hear the screen saver running.
I have an N130. It’s less than a year old. I did not buy any additional warranties., so I’m not sure if it’s covered. I haven’t even registered it yet.
I have no idea how to reinstall the driver or to do a cmos reset.
