XP taskbar won't stay at the top of screen.

Have taskbar at top of screen. Locked,Autohide

On Logout or Reboot it goes back to bottom of screen.

No matter what settings I check and manually move it back to top and re-locked it won’t stay there even registry shows it locked.

But log-off or reboot and it’s back on the bottom again.
Anybody else experience this problem?

Can an App like RocketDock cause this?
I also patched the theme.dll so I could use custom themes.

Just guessing here as google doesn’t give anything useful but the things I have already tired.

Any Help is appreciated.

Gave up and did a factory reset recovery and so far installed apps and themes work. Taskbar working normally.

Download and use a small utility TaskbarRepairToolPlus!.exe. The basic version is free and a Pro version is $5.00. It’s small but very functional. Try it; you’ll like it.
