Hi,
nobody has any idea what the problem is? I suppose it’s some kind of problem on the Samsung (other Firewall than Windows, Filesharing blocked etc.) But I tried everyting as far as I know. More suggestions are welcomed!
Zapp – I’m not au fait with macs but have a few ideas from my XP bias 🙂
Are the workgroup names exactly the same (not sure what the equivalent is on the mac) but you might find they are already as you can see the mac from the sammy. but worth a check all the same.
Are you using the sammy IP address when trying to connect from the mac. ie. 192.168.0.2 or whatever ipconfig /all gives.
Assuming share names have been set up on the sammy , enter in your Connect dialogue on the Mac
\192.168.0.2ShareName (replace IP with ipconfig address)
On the Mac I think you go to Apple > System Preferences > Network and choose the network where you should see the sammy IP address in the network list.
From what I understand there is no need for smb, but could be wrong.
When it connects you may be asked for a password. If so this is the XP user account password used to log into XP at startup
Hope this helps a bit 🙂
