You could copy the cd to a usb stick on another pc and then run the software.
Hope this helps
Hi Jeepers, I had recently started to think about buying an External CD drive to attach to my N130 when I read your post. Would the use of a USB stick be applicable for all applications or are there exceptions that make a CD drive a better choice?

I wouldn’t advocate the use of a memory stick as a replacement for an external DVD drive but it’s useful for the odd occassion that driver software is provided on a cd such as in sarahb’s case.
External DVD RW drives are useful for making backups and running other meda based and software aplications and they are reasonably priced so are a worthwhile investment IMHO.
You could of course network to the CD/DVD drive on another desktop as an alternative.
Hope this helps
