Got my new N210 yesterday, and the whole experience with Samsung’s bloatware and Hyperspace was enough to force me to install Windows XP instead. This should be pretty easy considering that they provide all of the drivers for XP online.
But I’m having problems regardless. It seems that neither of the wireless drivers work, and that the battery is not being recognised. By not recognised, I mean that no battery icon appears in XP, and the Samsung battery software says there is no battery. The battery worked 100% fine in Windows 7 yesterday. I can charge it, but there’s no indication of the battery level. It could potentially just cut out without Windows realising the battery is low. It also means I can’t update the BIOS, because the software fails to recognise the battery too.
Any suggestions on this, or the wireless problems? I have tried installing all of the Samsung drivers and software. Thanks.
Ok, problem solved. It seems that something must’ve gone wrong when installing XP. I reinstalled it, and all the drivers now work. Runs like a dream on XP, compared to Windows 7. Win 7 is a fantastic OS which really improves performance on a decent laptop or a desktop in my experience, but perhaps netbooks might be a little slow.
Hi, im wanting to install windows xp on my n210 currently running on 7. i have an iso image of xp on a partable hard drive, and i was wondering how i would go about installing it?
i’m not sure if you can mount the ISO in dos, however i found the easiest way for me was to follow instructions from here:

make the USB bootable Windows installation, wipe all partitions (after making an image of the entire drive of course) and off ya go.
