December 1, 2009 at 12:34 pm #198487jeepers01 Participantdilemma – Welcome to the forum December 2, 2009 at 9:05 am #198531dilemma MemberTurn around was really quick. Minus the shipping time of 1 week, they had the repair completed in 2 days. This was at the repair center in Texas. December 2, 2009 at 1:04 pm #198488jeepers01 Participant[quote1259759011=dilemma]

I just hope this solves it for you as it didn’t for me – not frequent but every few days still get the blank screen – a quick hibernation solves it for some reason.December 9, 2009 at 9:12 pm #198532chocs2000 MemberHmmm guess what I am going to say? I am new to this forum I have had my White NC10 since July and have loved it ever since I got it absoulutly one of the best things I have bought. Unfortunatly I have experienced the white screen I came across this website whist researching about the problem. Its terrible to know that so many people have the same problem. This monday 7/12/2009 I visited inPC World to speak to the tech guy about the problem! he told me that it was probably something that I had put on the computer!!!!!, I knew it couldn’t be, because to tell you the truth I only use the netbook to surf, I was rather disapointed as he told me something about I must come back and they will set the netbook back to its factory settings. I promtly left and started researching leading me to this website. It has been very informative I will probably contact SAMSUNG direct and get it sent away for treatment as for PC WORLD you are not good at all ! NO HELP December 9, 2009 at 9:18 pm #198489jeepers01 Participantchocs2000 – Welcome to the forum
You have probably tried all the suggested remedies to no avail. If you send it back to Samsung let us know how you get on.
Good luckDecember 10, 2009 at 8:46 am #198533chocs2000 Memberjeepers01, I will probably be sending the netbook in the new year just after the christmas rush. I will definatly let everyone know what happens. December 14, 2009 at 10:16 am #198534garlicbred MemberThanks! I’ve had the white screen problem for a few weeks now
Knocking the bightness level down a notch worked but last night I got to the last bar so there was no going back!
Opened the NC10 up, unplugged the connector on the back of the screen and gave it a clean, put everything back together again and………. Perfect! Well happy now
It’s not that hard to do either, just make sure you have the correct size screwdriver for the job or you’ll be threading them
Quality forum, many thanks!December 14, 2009 at 7:35 pm #198490jeepers01 Participantgarlicbred – Welcome to the forum
Hope that is a permanent fix, it has been done by others on the forum as well.December 17, 2009 at 1:53 pm #198475jsel MemberAs mentioned above, I have had the lcd cable replaced by Samsung but am still getting the solid screen on an increasing frequency. It is solved by hibernating and restarting computer. When I rang support they recommended a complete restore. The Samsung site refers to it here Before I do this, has anyone else done it and if so did it work? I am a bit sceptical about a driver refresh curing the problem as most people on here seem to think it a connection problem in the screen. Mod Edit: Long link fixed ~ jeepers01
