MemberHi there everyone…. recently my NC10 netbook has been giving me real problems. It is full of viruses and my browser has been hijacked i think. It keeps on redirecting automatically to cliccker.cn, this is shown in the status bar… but in the address bar it goes to various sites… that are search type sites.
Also my resources are being used heavily by processes that i dont recongnize. The normally end in a .tmp extension, examples are 7.tmp 8.tmp 389.tmp, when i search for these in my system files they are hidden in the temp folder and the system 32 and prefetch folders
I have tried to remove this by using Spybot, AVG, Ad aware, Malwarebytes and many others,,,,, it does get deleted but when i reboot it has returned. This trojan keeps coming back. I have even tried removing in safe mode but still its not fixed
So what can i do now.. i am unsure what to do next… what do you suggest?
I hope someone can help
Thanks in advance

MemberHi Sam and welcome to the forum 🙂
Try downloading, installing, and running Ccleaner. This software sorts out your Windows installation and enables you to control which programs start when your NC10 starts.
Hope this resolves your problem.

Memberif you still have problems you could try combo fix. i’ve not used it on the nc10 but it fixed a load of problems on a desktop. you need to follow the instructions carefully.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofixi downloaded it and used it i didn’t bother with asking help on their forum.

ParticipantSam – you might want to have a look at this to remove cliccker.cn if malware removal tools do not work.
Cliccker.cn help please!!!?It involves using the Recovery Console option and you can find details here if needed

Just making sure you know, you can press F4 at startup (you may need to hold it down when you turn the computer on) to reinstall Windows from the hidden recovery partition. Also be careful of the files you backup as they may be infected.
