vga to s-video?

Is it possible to stream from laptop vga to s-video on tv?

My LG tv does not have a vga input, only s-video or hdmi.

matt_tee, Google “VGA to s-video adapters” to get a line on retailers that carry such adapters in your area.You will also need an audio cable from the headset out port on your Sammy. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I know you can get the cables, but will they work? I read somewhere, that the nc10 cannot handle it with the chipset that it has and you need to buy a VGA to s-video converter. Is this true?

No they won’t work and yes you will need an active converter, as only a very few graphics cards output the necessary signal on some of the spare pins.

Will any other cables work, like VGA to hdmi, VGA to scart, etc?

VGA to HDMI = No as VGA is an analogue signal whereas HDMI is a digital signal.

VGA to SCART = Maybe, if your TV has an RGB capable SCART socket (most do), however the bigger obstacle would be getting the graphics card to output the correct signal 720×576 interlaced 50Hz I think.
