Here’s a quick tutorial showing how I fixed my friend’s dead, out-of-warranty NC20: http://thinkpseudo.blogspot.com/2010/07/how-to-fix-your-dead-samsung-netbook.html
The internal wires leading to the DC jack had broken free of the soldered joint, due to repeated stress on the connector. I don’t know how common this problem is, but if others have it, it’s a relatively easy fix.
Let me know if you found this useful! I’m curious how many other Samsung netbook owners (NC20 or otherwise) have had this problem as well.
Pseudothink – Welcome to the forum.
This issue has come up on the forum before although I can’t remember which model but you are not alone with this issue.
Your guide is indeed very useful as it may well apply to several Samsung netbook models with similar power connector arrangements.
ps I liked the story about Izzy 🙂
Thanks jeepers01, your feedback is great, and I’m glad you liked the Izzy story! If I’d found the SammyNetbook.com wiki prior to writing my blog entry, I’d have probably just added it there instead…perhaps I still will, if I find the time. (Anyone else is welcome to do so, if they like.) 🙂
