Member1. I am returning my Blue NC10 – hated the color and it has 2 major issues, but I like everything else about it
2. I am waiting for my Toshiba NB205 – love the design especially the keyboard and the trackpad
3. For only extra $100, I can buy a 12″ netbook instead of a 10″ one – NC10 doesn’t seem too small, but 12″ will be better for sure. I’d love to have white, but black isn’t too bad.
Can you convince me to go with NC20 instead of NB205? 😀

MemberI have 12″ white NC20 and I had NC10 in the past. The 12″ screen is not THAT a big deal compared to 10″ so I suggest you excluded from your criteria. After this is done, Toshiba is better in everything, except the fact the speaker is so weak, it’s unusable and you will have to use headphones.

MemberPersonally for me the screen size was the biggest selling point of the NC20. I always liked the NC10 but was always slightly put off by screens smaller than 12″ for lots of use.
When I heard about the NC20 I waited until it was released and then choose whether I would go for a 12″ netbook or goto an ultraportable laptop. Decided on the NC20 in black and so far have not been disappointed with it.

MemberFor me, it came down to screen size and resolution (more pixels are essential to what I do) and keyboard fit and feel. Samsung’s keyboards are well done and a joy to type on.

MemberSmall res. screen = frequent scrolling, don’t want to to that; keyboard is also slightly bigger, hence, picked up NC20 instead of NC10, so far not disappointed.

MemberThank you all for your feedbacks!
My NB205 is arriving on Monday so I will play with it about a month and then decide whether to keep it or switch to NC20.
I’d really like to have a 12″ screen though.July 11, 2009 at 6:49 am #195840Tenebrae
Membercoolwater,
I’m in a similar boat aswell. Was browsing netbooks in a few shops the other day and just think the extra 2″ makes a huge diff. I’m using a 12″ dell (very old but good for the basics) and am very accustomed to it. The Toshiba is cool but wish they had a 12″ model. I’m pretty much settled on the NC20 as it seems to be the better of the 12″ mini notebooks or “netbooks” if you can still call it that. Mostly I want great battery life and nice slim design (no optical drives).

MemberI saw a Gateway netbook at Bestbuy store, its 11.6″ wide screen, same price $400, battery lasts about 5 hours, reviews say it can play HP vids, processor is Athlon 64. Looks very expensive compared to Toshiba so if I sell my NC20, ill buy the Gateway.

MemberThe gateway is nice.. big hdd, great processor, battery life not as good as NC20, but still good value and a nice machine. Not available in Oz and warranty isn’t International like Samsung or I would have considered it.

MemberI will have to visit Bestbuy and check it out. But, I’d still want to see Toshiba’s NB series 12″ netbook hopefully with thinner bezel.

MemberThe toshiba screwed it with the carton bezel and the plastic cheap looking lid.
