After many weeks of researching different netbooks and falling in love with the NC10, I finally ordered one (it should be arriving tomorrow).
I’m a writer and I use a laptop, however… my current 17in laptop seems to make me more immobile then mobile. It’s huge, heavy, and the battery lasts a whopping 30 minutes. So a netbook sounded perfect to me. I admit, the keyboard really sold me on the NC10, since I spend a good portion of my day typing. After that, it was the battery life.
I’m very excited to get to use it.
I’m a little apprehensive about this ‘screen blotch’ problem that has cropped up. I really hope my NC10 isn’t affected by it, since I know it would drive me crazy.
Welcome Snook. 🙂
I know what you mean about having a huge laptop – my old one was a 17″ too and it pretty much lived on my desk. Not particularly mobile lol.
There’s been a lot of posts lately regarding the blotchy screen as people have collectively realised it’s not as isolated a problem as they initially thought it might be. That said, the majority of NC10s do seem to be fine, so please try not to feel too nervous about it. 🙂
My screen seems fine to me. For £300 it is never going to have a top quality screen so my expectations were never that high. But of course it shouldn’t have large dark patches on it.
Hope it arrives in top condition 🙂
Thanks for welcome 🙂
Got it and started it up… I saw the two black blotches right away unfortunately. So at some point I’ll have to send it to Samsung… going to wait and see how a few others repairs go first.
