Hope this helps when you’re ready to add an ssd in your sammy.
So some genius says linux mint would be the best software to install on a netbook cause its light and safe so I tried it out. I created a dual boot into mint and i hated it. mint doesn’t recognize the touchpad, thought it was a ps2 mouse. there is no intuitive help included so after much cursing i said i’ll use win7 till i find a fix for mint touchpad issue. My win7 kept crashing when i tried to go back. I played with the bios settings earlier so it was an ahci setting issue i thought. I found this link that sorted out my blue screen achi issues.
Mint aint ready for primetime. So I clean install win7homeprem all over again and i rerun my experience score and my ssd is giving me 7.2 instead of the 7.6 I had before my Mint episode. Letting the steam out from under my collar I dig into the net and find this ssd tweak program that everyone seems to like. I pay the poor bastard his $10 and i upgrade to the Pro version so i can get into the win7 trim stuff everyones talking about. I played with a few settings, namely I re-enabled windows prefetch, both apps and boot, made sure superfetch was disabled, kill hibernate and rerun experience and now i’ve got my 7.6 disk rating again. Phew!
