Hi, I have a few NC10’s and im looking to sell one of them.
Can anyone explain how to reset it to the default factory settings?
I don’t mind losing data but need it to have the factory basics ready for the buyer of the machine.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks.
Well, normally, when you switch it on for the 1st time you are invited to run the Samsung Recovery software – this will then create an image of the initial state of the drive. Whether you can use this depends if and at what point an image was taken. If all is well you can run Samsung Recovery and reinstall the image – it’s real easy and there’s instructions in the manual (you can d/l from http://www.samsung.com – I think it’s as simple as holding down F4?? when you boot).
I’d also wipe free space with http://eraser.heidi.ie/ if there was sensitive stuff on there.
I have downloaded the eraser but how do you actually use it?
When I open it up there doesn’t seem to be anywhere to run the application.
Thanks.
