Hi All,
Just a question, Has anybody tried to cut down a standard SD card so that it fits flush with the front of the NC10?
I may be asking a silly question, sorry if it is, but when the sd card is inserted in the front, it sticks out about 5mm. This card has to be removed each time you put the NC10 to bed, just in case it gets knocked.
Looking at a standard sd card, all of the ‘gubbins’ is at the front and the back part just looks empty.
So, has anyone been temted to cut one of these cards down?

Whether you can cut down an SD card depends on whether it has anything towards the back of the card.Here’s a picture I took for the other thread, you can see one of my SD cards which has been opened up (second from the right) which you wouldn’t want to cut down.
just curious , but why would you want an sd card in there all the time , If you could boot into anthor os then yes , but other than that I cant think of any other reason I would want an sd card in the slot its just gonna eat battery power isnt it ? plus the sd card reader in the samsung nc10 has no spring load so it would be a nightmare to remove .
Hmm well it could be used on Vista/7 for ReadyBoost, or if you’re feeling like a challenge it may be possible to boot from GRUB off the hard drive to an OS (probably Linux) loaded on an SD memory card. You could then turn off the hard drive once booted.
It would be tricky to remove though if you cut it wrong, if you do it right hopefully it would be like removing the blank card which fits flush.
If you really insist on doing this, just use the blank card, referred to by Alfihar as a template. Good luck.
