My wife has an N210 with Windows-7 starter. The screen turns into white and hangs for almost a minute frequently.
I thought some additional memory would help, I have upgraded the RAM to 2GB, and no change in laptop behaviour, it still turns the screen into a transperent white and stay freezed for almost a minute whenever there is some acitivity like opening photo, multiple IE screens.
This really drives me crazy at times 🙂
What can be done to make it better ?
Thanks in advance
Raneesh
Sorry to say that it’s probably this…

Raneesh,
I’ve had this on and off for the entire time I’ve owned my NC10 — not the hanging, but the white screen. It’s temporarily solved by pressing the bottom of the LCD panel around where it says SAMSUNG, but it’s a real pain.
I *just* called Samsung (800 SAMSUNG), and it couldn’t have been an easier process. The guy asked me what was wrong, I said, “The storied white screen I’m sure you hear about often with this computer,” he sighed and apologized for the problem, got the serial from me off the bottom of the unit, set up a ticket, gave me a service number, and told me to take it to a UPS store and tell them that service number, they’d take it, pack it, and ship it off for repair. If you’re still within the first year, you should have this easily solved. Much better, I think, than trying to open the unit yourself, as it’s free and they bear the liability for any issues that might crop up. Of course, if you’re past that first year …
I am SO glad I read your post as I’ve been lazy about calling, expecting a real hassle, and I was almost out of warranty! (July)
