I am always experiencing web browsing delays in explorer. The screen locks temporarily when I scroll down or up until the page loads up. This makes web browsing painful and I am really wondering sometimes if this was good buy. Even as I type this message there is delay Anybody experiencing this problem? Computer is new and I am not using any heavy application. Thanks for ur help.
i get this an awful lot too, im using google chrome

What operating system are you using? What browser? What anti-virus software have you got?

I have XP 2002 version, IE 8, I have Mcafee but not activated, I had the 173 driver and replaced it with 191 as advised in the forum. After I did this it got little better but still not smooth. Scrolling down stll locks until page loads up (although better than before). While typing this message, still get cuts i.e. there is a lag before the letters appear. Thanks a lot.
I noticed the same on vanilla install. I disabled VSYNC / monitor sync in the Via Chrome Screentoys – it helps a bit.
The page will be loaded in full and typing goes smooth again on my NC20. Of course make sure to have a look at the XP performance tweaks elsewhere on this forum too.
McAfee not activated but runniing in the background. Maybe it’s time to say goodbye McAfee. Recommend something lighter and free: avira, avast.
