I bought the Samsung n130 with XP preinstalled and no XP disk. There is a Samsung recovery software installed for restoring the system plus a media cd with some drivers and software, but no XP.
Now I need to format the hard drive and re-install XP because playing around with LInux and Meebo installations I got my system broken.
The Samsung recovery software does not work anymore (F4 on boot)…I would like to borrow a XP installation disk, make an image bootable from usb, and re-install XP with my licence.
Is it that possible? Can I run any XP disk and then use my licence?I’ve had the same problem but I have tried to reinstall XP using a XP home edition disk with service pack 2 however it hasn’t worked. It won’t generate the long windows activation ID and I’ve spoken to microsoft and samsung “support” and they keep passing me from pillar to post.
Any advice would be warmly welcomed.
