MemberHi all! Thanks for the support of this little site for the little Samsung NC10!
Having reviewed the responsibilities of running a forum it has been drawn to my attention that in the UK I am jointly liable for anything published here. I have been advised to set out a clear set of forum rules that I invite you to read here.
On that basis I am afraid that I will have to err on the side of caution when it comes to discussing any potentially illegal topics or publication of any defamatory remarks.
I apologise in advance if I close up your topic or thread but I have a wife and family to support and cannot afford to take any risks. If I find that this cannot be managed comfortably then I will lock down the forum. Please help avoid that situation!
Future of the site
These restrictions may prove too much for some of you so I invite you to start your own blog and or forum. I intend to steer this site to be more beginner and every day user focused so there is definitely scope for a more technical writer to start something up if they wish.Anyone who is excited by this change of direction and is a regular user is invited to PM me for forum moderation access. I will review and pick a few NC10 owners to act as an extra pair of eyes. Please only apply if you are happy to moderate on the basis of the forum rules and this post!
The obvious impact:
-
*Can I direct any Mac OS discussion elsewhere – Apple do not sell installation discs so this cannot be done legally.
*Discussion of emulation or circumnavigating copy protection to get games running is also not on
*Keep your discussion of purchasing to factual experience. It is OK to share your experience of a store but general slating is potentiall defamatory and will be removed
*If this is too restrictive for you then please feel free to set up a wiki or forum of your own and take on the responsibility yourself!I am not doing this to be difficult, it is a legal requirement and I cannot take any risks. If you see anything locked or removed then please do not re-post it.
Thanks you for your support.
