MemberOnly had my NC10 for under a week but can’t seem to achieve anywhere near the battery life that others appear to get.
Mine is averaging at 3 hours from a full overnight charge (after allowing it to settle down from loading up and before opening any other applications). Is this normal?
I’ve disabled bluetooth.
Uninstalled McAfee
Set Battery Manager to Max Battery LifeJust wondering if I’ve got a bit of a dud battery? 3 hrs is probably enough for me but I’m feeling a bit cheated at the moment and want what everyone else is getting !!
Any help would be much appreciated – I love my Sammy otherwise.

MemberHave you been into the BIOS and recalibrated the battery ?

MemberNot yet. Been reading up on battery calibration and was put off by comments about it draining the battery life even more. :-/

ParticipantThe SMART battery calibration will use up a complete charge cycle, this isn’t really that bad.
Can you try BattStat and check how many Watts your netbook is using while idle.
Around 10W to 11W seems not too bad if there hasn’t been any optimisations, with most things active (WiFi, Bluetooth, moderate brightness). That should probably give around 4:30 – 5 hours worth.

MemberRan the BattStat programme. Left it idle, but watching it for 5 mins or so, and it seems to be averaging around 6W. Is that good/bad? Sorry not a techy when it comes to these things – just an obsessive battery watcher !! 🙂

Member6 Watts would be extremely good IF this is measured accurately. My BatteryBar Pro tells me I’m drawing between 9.335 (brightness on lowest setting) and 13.942 W with brightness on highest setting and processor at 10 %.
On average I have around 4:15 h before running empty.

MemberYou could have been duped (like me) and have the 3cell battery version. I only get 2hrs max out of it!

Member^^ Check it’s not a 2200mah battery, like mine, 2-2 1/2 hours for me.

MemberI ran Battstat and it said;
Charge: 98%, 18493mWh
Capacity: 18870mWh (of 24420)It’s plugged in and showing that it not using it’s full capacity?

MemberSuggest you look at the actual battery and read how many mAh it is.

[/quote1250649463]I think yours nc10 with 3cell battery, just take the battery out, and have a look of mAH
6 cell one should be 5200mAh or 5900mAh (for SE edition) ,August 19, 2009 at 6:32 am #196053TCMuffin

[/quote1250663537]For example, this is the label on my standard ~7 hour battery:August 19, 2009 at 1:23 pm #196073dannyAtown
MemberNo, i know it’s the 3cell version, no doubt about it. I’ll check the battery when i get home and post here.
Even though it’s the 3cell version, why is it only using 18870mWh out of 24420 (77%) ???

MemberYep, mine’s the 2200mAh battery… rubbish. I get about 1:30 out of it, very disappointed
