MemberHey ingenious question: I just wanted to exchange the mmory of my NC 10 from 1 to 2 GB. Okeee didnt read amazon to the end, so this didnt work with Cruzer DDR2 SODIMM 256Mx64PC2-5300….all right. but after I switched back to the original memory, my little one doesnt come up anymore. just the blue battery light….
I wasnt electrostatic and didnt force anything…any suggestions what buttons to press????
Thanks!!!!April 26, 2010 at 8:20 pm #212981jez
MemberYikes that seems odd, the RAM upgrade should be pretty safe and I’ve yet to see any other peeps with a problem. No comfort to you at the moment though :(.
I guess the obvious is to make sure it’s fully powered down, maybe pop the battery out? Not sure that will really make a difference.
But try re-seating the Ram, pop it out and gently insert again making sure the contacts are clear.
What happens exactly? You put it on, the light comes on, but nothing on screen?

MemberWelcome to the forum Wulk,
The most likely cause would seem to be poorly seated RAM. As jez suggests, try taking it out and reinstalling it.

MemberThank you jez and tonytb, I really appreciate your input. It sounds so gaga, like asking for fixing a car, that is missing gas or so…
Well I really checked the memory and it all fits smoothly and snuggs and I close the plastic protection and when I press the power button (even with electric cord just in case the battery is flat in the meantime) all it does is showing me the blue light of the power button. Nothing else comes up. I tried battery in/out…power cord in / out….reopen the RAM couple of times…I am not a computer gig for sure, but I exchanged memories before and I am not aware of having anything forced or so…buaeh!!!April 26, 2010 at 11:00 pm #212983jeepers01
ParticipantWulk – Welcome to the forum
Is the machine totally dead ie no hard drive spinning and no signs of booting etc.?
Can you get into the bios with F2 at bootup?
It could be stuck in hibernate mode if you were using that at the time of the memory change.Resetting the cmos may help as a last resort. Details in this thread.
Hope this helps
