I have recently installed Win7 on my NC20. I then installed all the updates from the Samsung website (including the BIOS update). But since the install I have encountered the following problems:
1. I can’t put the computer in sleep mode. The option appears in the Shut Down menu but it is greyed.
2. I have no manual control of screen brightness. Fn+Up and Fn+Down don’t work.
3. The most annoying thing. If the computer is turned on when it is plugged in, it is in maximum brightness; if the computer is turned on when using battery it is in minimum brightness. And because I can’t manually change brightness I am stuck at either extreme for the rest of my working session.
4. When opening the Power Options in the Control Panel, the only setting that appears and that I can control is the time to turn off the display.
I am pretty sure this is all just one problem, probably with the Easy Display Manager. The version I have installed is 3.0.3.8 for Win7.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

In the bios look for the brightness control and set it from auto to manual (it’s like that on the NC10 so should be similar for you.)
Select the Samsung Optimized power plan and adjust the plan settings for your required brightness levels.
Hope this helps
Thanks!
Unfortunately, it didn’t help. I was already on the Samsung Optimized power plan. I changed the setting in the BIOS, but all the problems are still there.
