Parsley
MemberHi
Has anyone had any success with Network Stumbler on their Sammy? I’ve tried it on my N120 and most of the columns seem to have corrupted data i.e. Mac codes showing 00000000, SSIDs showing incorrectly, other columns showing incorrect (illogical) values for channel, speed etc. Exactly the same application installed on a Dell lappy alongside the Sammy works perfectly. Maybe Network Stumbler doesn’t like the wireless card.
Alternatively, can anyone recommend a similar (free) program that works with the Sammy?

Hmmm! Thanks for that. You must be using NS v0.4.0 because it’s been around for years, are you using the standard Atheros wireless card? Could you tell me what driver you are using for your wireless card (assuming it IS an Atheros), also, what driver does it show on the NS ‘about’ panel lower RHS?

ParticipantWorks perfectly on my NC10 (with xp wireless zero and Atheros wireless card)
Have you tried uninstall and then re-install
If you are not using wireless zero then there may be conflicts with your wireless softwareHope this helps

Works perfectly on my NC10 ………[/quote1244896447]Thanks for that. I must have something wrong somewhere. Yep, using standard Atheros card & XP windows zero management. I’ll try a reinstall (it was installed across a network first time). I’ll report back.

MemberSorted!! 🙂
Thanks to both of you for your responses. I reinstalled and it still didn’t work properly. Knowing NS works for both of you I had a look around and found the “Device” menu in NS. The options are: “Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter Atheros” or “Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter NDIS 5.1”. Mine was set to ‘…..Atheros’, changed it to ‘……NDIS 5.1’ and it now works fine.
Thanks again for your help.

MemberAs an alternative to NetStumbler I use InSSIDer (http://www.metageek.net/products/inssider) on my NC20. I prefer the interface.
