MemberHi,
I tried to use my inbuilt webcam (Namuga 1.3M Webcam) for the first time in a couple of months and it seems to have stopped working. I never had a problem before, but now I just get a black screen when trying to use it in skype. I ran a diagnostic test, but it just tells me it’s working. When I use the camera to take a picture, it takes it but the result is just black.
If anyone else has had this problem and/or knows how to resolve it I would be very grateful!
Thank you,
Nathalie

Participantnatta78 – Welcome to the forum
Have you tried re-loading the driver?
When you took the picture was the webcam working but the saved picture blank?
Hope this helps

MemberThanks. No, the picture wasn’t working – it’s black and so are the still and moving images. How do I reload the driver?
Thanks so much for your help!

Participantnatta78 – It may well be a hardware problem with the webcam but try as follows:
Download the XP Namuga Camera webcam driver from here
Extract the zipped file and run the setup file.
If you get an error try this:
start > control panel > system > device manager > imaging devices > Namuga 1.3M webcam
On the general tab it should report “this device is working properly”
On the driver tab there should be a driver version present
Select Uninstall
The Select Update Driver and point the location to where you unzipped the downloaded driver.Hope this helps

MemberI followed the instructions above because it wouldn’t allow me to run the set-up file, but when I clicked “uninstall”, I realised to late it was uninstalling the image device. Should I do a system re-set, or something like that?

MemberHello there, I am here with James the tech boy and we have tried all these options, nothing works.
My webcam driver is not showing in the hardware listing. He checked the BIOS, no option to enable a camera and windows cannot find it. The webcam is calling itself an unknown device so it is sort of there but not completely.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem??
We are wonderinf if a full reinstall of the netbook will help, what do you think?
Thanks!
Thanks
