Hi, I’ve had my trusty NC10 for 18months and as it’s starting to get a bit slow. I’m not particularly tech-savy, but want to completely format the hardrive and reboot the system from fresh. I have two backup DVDs as supplied from Samsung, one System Recovery Media and one System Software Medium. Armed with these DVDs is it as simple as formatting the hardrive then plugging in an external cd drive and inserting the System Recovery Media DVD and going from there. I have a feeling it is not this simple and I’m worried about formatting/wipping the NC10 then being stuck!!
I’ve had a look through this forum and it seems some members are asking on how to use Samsung Recovery programme or negotiatie partioned hardrives for backing up, etc. but I couldn’t find advice on just formating the netbook and starting again.So any step-by-step advice on how to reincarnate my NC10 will be really appriciated!

Samsung don´t provide the media for reinstalling the OS on the CDs any more. The simplest route, by far, would be for you to F4 at boot, and put the system back to exactly how you originally set it up.
Just as if doing an OS reinstall though, make sure you have a reliable backup of your data before doing so.
