September 8, 2011 at 3:00 pm #166392the_edge123 MemberHello, I successfully changed my motherboard. The problem is now during boot. The screen is very dim. I can hardly see the Samsung logo and after I can not see anything.
Would someone be kind to describe, in blind mode, the key sequence to access to the brightness control option in the BIOS ?
 I think it starts with:
 press F2
press left arrow (twice ?) and so on.Thanks in advance September 9, 2011 at 3:50 pm #215720the_edge123 MemberCan someone owning a NC10 take five minutes to give me that sequence ? Thanks in advance September 9, 2011 at 5:54 pm #215717jeepers01 Participantthe_edge123 – Welcome to the forum Press [F2] (Exit Screen default screen)
Left Arrow once (to Boot menu)
Down arrow 6 times (Brightness Mode Control)
 Press Enter
This gives control sub menu- User Control
- Auto
So if you want User Control press Up arrow once as you will probably be on Auto by default
 Press Enter
 Press [F10]
Press EnterShine a torch on the screen, it will help Hope this helps and good luck 🙂 September 10, 2011 at 9:08 am #215721the_edge123 MemberThanks for the tip. But the combination [Fn]+”light” does not respond.
I will try to find an external monitor.September 10, 2011 at 10:46 am #215718jeepers01 Participant@the_edge123 109912 wrote: Thanks for the tip. But the combination [Fn]+”light” does not respond.
I will try to find an external monitor.Your welcome Is it a new motherboard or second user as it could possibly be related to a bios version issue. Check with a torch obliquely pointed at the screen to ensure the default bios entry screen point is in fact the Exit tab else the ‘blind’ instructions will not work. I assume you had managed to install Easy Display Manager else [FN] + [Arrow] will not change the brighness.
It is also normally required to enable the external monitor with [Fn] + [F4]Hope this helps September 10, 2011 at 1:10 pm #215722the_edge123 Member@jeepers01 109913 wrote: Your welcome Is it a new motherboard or second user as it could possibly be related to a bios version issue. It is a second hand mobo.

Hope this helpsNow, I can see that I’m not in the BIOS but in the windows 7 boot loader (sigh).
I remember now that I was installing it before being interrupted.September 10, 2011 at 7:24 pm #215723the_edge123 MemberThe keyboard connector was not correctly set. I successfully changed the brightness control in the BIOS but the Fn key seems not active. Now I’m stuck to the windows 7 installation because of a bluescreen. It might be easier to use a usb hard drive connector/adapter to get the drive sorted out on another PC. Hope this helps September 14, 2011 at 7:58 pm #215724the_edge123 MemberI bought a second-hand LCP panel to replace the old one.
 Now, it’s OK.
I will try to find a CCFL bulb to repair the old one, for fun 🙂
