I have bought a 2GB RAM upgrade, but realised once I had bought it that it was a 800Mhz type.
I saw in the FAQ on this forum that the recommended type of RAM was the 667Mhz type.
Will it create problems if I carry on upgrading with the 800Mhz RAM?
Will I see a difference of speed by upgrading the RAM?
Nope will just run as if it were 667Mhz
No, as Ede says – the motherboard will throttle back the RAM to 667 MHz.
Will I see a noticeable difference compared with the 1GB RAM I have now?
Depends really what operating system and applications your using
It makes sense to upgrade as the price of memory is cheap and the benefits are great!

Hi, you could have a look at the Upgrade the RAM on an NC10 page in our Sammywiki for more info 🙂

The only reason that Sammy’s are not supplied with 2GB RAM is that Microsoft’s licensing of XP for use on netbooks stipulated that netbooks have a maximum of 1GB of RAM installed.
The extra RAM will be most beneficial when you try to run more than a couple of applications at the same time.
I didn’t notice a big difference but I bet from time to time it comes in handy depending what you are doing. imo for the price of the upgrade it is worth doing 🙂
