Only had the nc10 a week and love it. Coming from a high end toshiba 17 inch gaming high spec laptop to. I used to put my screen to my 32inch lcd via a DVI OUT to HDMI on the tv. I just bought a VGA to HDMI cable and i cannot get it to show up on the tv. Please god don’t tell me it doesn’t do this? I don’t want to use signal convertors etc. Surely it should recognise it. It did on the toshiba and it only had a DVI out on it.
VGA = Analogue signal
DVI = Digital signal
It recognised the Toshiba because it had a compatible digital output, the NC10 does not.
You need a converter to get from analogue to digital. This has been discussed in the forum already, it’s not cheap sorry pal.
what? Im not talking about DVI, that was on my old laptop.
Your TV doesn’t have VGA in? Ouch. I feed my Toshiba HDTV from VGA and get a wonderful picture. All the better to watch Hulu, fancast, joost and miro.
nope it has HDMI x2 ports RGB scart
So what can I do?
You will need to buy a VGA to HDMI (DVI) converter box, as your TV doesn’t have the right type of input.
Though it may be possible to get a low quality input via VGA to RGB Scart.
i have an xbox could i download media centre and do it that way to get around this rubbish?
If you just want to play media (videos, music, photos etc…) on your TV then yes that would probably work, though it wont allow you to extend your NC10’s screen onto the TV.
It depends what you want to use your TV screen for.
