Welcome to the forum tonyd51,
It sounds like either – your HDD is corrupt or dead, or the BIOS is looking at the wrong drive to boot from. Have you a USB stick plugged in?
hi thanks 4 the reply,no usb plugged in . how do i know which drive the bios is loading from?
tonyd51 – Welcome to the forum.
On the [F2] bios boot screen, press enter and look for the hard drive details which should be device No.1 ie. the highest priority.
If nothing is reported then the HDD is probably u/s.
Hope this helps
