Memberdaevo,
Is it still in warranty? if so consider sending it back for checking/replacement But first, are these similar to your issues:

or
http://www.sammymobile.com/forum/threads/11651-Video-stutter-at-1080p-remedy-if-you’re-disappointed-like-meHave a read including the links from the above posts. (Some of the follow on links from the post refer to other Nxxx series netbooks, but hopefully yours will have similar or equivalent settings).
Just a thought, what is your CPU and memory usage typically running at from task manager?

MemberHi Fred…Sorry for my exasperated thread but this problem has annoyed me ever sine i bought this netbook. In all other respects it’s a fine machine. I read the links you sent..thanks for that, but the problem seems more serious since i cannot even play an mp3 for longer than 30 secs before the dreaded glitching returns. (repeatedly about every 10 secs or so) This happened when I first installed XP and has continued since. I reinstalled…followed all the driver installs…all went as instucted but after a minute or so glitching. It doesnt show up in task manager as high load on any service…it just happens regularily and seem to vary with temperature!! I am putting up with this because i mainly listen to stuff on line and strangely it doesnt glitch then??? I’m baffled completely. Thanks for replying and sorry for the over dramatic thread title.

Memberdaevo,
No need to worry about the ‘exasperated thread’, I’d have said. We’ve nearly all been there 🙂
The CPU and Memory seem fine, I was hoping something would be V high and give a clue as to whats causing the issue.
I’m not familiar with this model, does it come with XP or W7?
As it plays streamed stuff OK, just a thought, what media/MP3 player are you trying? Have you tried another one? Something like VLC maybe, just to see if thats any different.
seem to vary with temperature
– may be worthy of further investigation. Is it over heating? Is the fan running correctly? For temp something like this may be. I’ve not downloaded or used this myself, but have seen it mentioned on this forum. Check your CPU is one of the supported CPUs (I guess it will be), and as usual AV check before running.
EDIT – just an extra thought. Do you have an SD card? Copy some MP3s to that, do they play OK? i.e. is it a poor HD speed problem (for some reason). Run a chkdsk and defrag are they all OK? Download something like SiSoft Sandra (the trial version is free) and run a disk speed test.
