N210 or new range

Hi all!

First time post for me!

I was hoping to pick your brains before I purchase a sammy netbook. I’m looking at either the N210 or something from the new range. My main use will be word processing during a train commute each day. I need a long battery life (which the N210 boasts) as well as something that is light. I appreciate the matte screen too, and prefer the new keyboards.

My main question is whether the new range will necessarily result in a price reduction of the n210 (which I’ve seen for about £270 online)? I’ve never looked at netbooks before so don’t know how their pricing works, but the older models of shot up in price which makes me worry that the n210 will before long.

Also, do we have any idea of when the new netbooks will be out, and their price range? I keep Googling stuff but can’t find anything (though the new nf110 and nf210 are on the Samsung website at long last). I really need to purchase the netbook this month and don’t want to wait until the end of the month only to find that the new models are going to be delayed (this happens in the video game industry and drives me mad!)

I hope you can help with these questons/inquiries.

I’ve just seen on Amazon(.co.uk) that the NF210 (or some version of it) is to be released on the 29th October. Unfortunately, this seems to be an ambiguous one with a faster single core processor (1.83ghz).

Oooooh, I’ve just noticed that you have the black n210 plus – that is cheaper than the n210 (normal). can I ask how much battery life you get out of it? if you were to be word processing, would you get 8 hours out of it? also, what’s it like streaming films/youtube?

i suspect that i’ll be picking up the n210 plus in about 10 days, if the nf210 is too expensive/unavailable (and the n210 normal is too expensive)

I get about 5 hours with mix of watching tv/films and about 7.5 hours if wifi / bluetooth are off.

Streaming BBC iPlayer and Youtube are fine.
