Hi im new to the forum bought my lovely n140 on Sunday, was the newermodel with the 250gb hard drive and Win 7. so far had a few issue with scrolling etc but they’ve all been sorted out with a few updates from the guys at samsung. My main concern however is the use of the webcam and youtube. I found that many youtube videos were choppy the sound quality was fine but the frames were out of sync and skipping. My other main issue was the use of the webcam on IM’s such as AIM, one of the main reasons i bought it was to chat with folks on the webcam on the go but whenever i load up AIM n try a video chat i am unable to see the recipients webcam and the lil n140 gets quite slow. I havent upgraded to 2gb RAM yet and just wanted to hear about anyone else’s experience with the can and webchats
thank for all the help with the other issue covered in this forum has been a massive help
Bingoben – Welcome to the forum
Youtube videos in standard quality play better when the processor is stepped into speed mode whilst playing. [Fn]+F8.
I find Windows Live Messenger works well in webcam mode but not in video mode. This used to be able to be fixed by rolling back to an earlier version but I don’t think that option is available now since I believe the older versions are now not compatible (not tried though)
As an alternative Skype works well 🙂
Hope this helps
