Not the most technical person in the world, got one of these for xmas, also got an 8 gb memory stick to load movies for watching on the train.
Tried to copy one film to memory stick on other laptop but when tried to play on netbook it stated that there were no files visible on the stick …. netbook or stick problem? So hard to find any instructions, is there some specific software best for doing this.

Is it that the files did not copy to the stick correctly or it’s probably windows media player not recognising the file format?
Try VLC media player or KMPlayer both are free

Thanks for that down loaded both programmes but unfortunately still cannot copy dvds on to usb memory sticks for use with the N140 note book.
UKfisherman, are you trying to load a movie directly off of a DVD that’s loaded onto your other laptop onto the USB stick?
If so, that’s your problem. You have to “rip” the DVD to your laptop first and then copy that “ripped” file to the USB stick. One gets into “gray areas” when it comes to “ripping” software so I’ll end my post at this time.
