Hi there
I wonder if anyone can help with the fact my N130 netbook can’t detect the wireless connection in my house. In fact it can’t detect any local wireless networks whatsoever. I switched it on last night (it had been working fine) and the wireless was kaput. When I press the wireless icon it says ‘no networks detected’ despite the fact there are loads of them locally and normally it has no problem detecting them
There is nothing wrong with the wireless network as other computers in the house are picking it up OK.
I am a basic level user so a bit scared of doing any tweaks, but I tried pressing F9 and it made no difference. I also checked the firewall and it makes no difference whether the ‘wi-fi enabled’ box is clicked or unclicked.
In the row of lights along by the touchpad, the wireless one is lit up so that all looks fine.
Is this anything I can fix, or should I just take it to PC World?
Thanks a lot
S
Presumably you mean you pressed CTRL+F9..?
Are you using XP or Win7 (Starter or Home Premium?)
LondonSarita – I would suspect that it might be due to a windows update that has changed the wireless driver.
Try rolling back to the earlier driver version before the update. Details are in this thread.
N130 has lost wireless connection suddenly!
Hope this helps and let us know how you get on.

btw I think that should be [Fn] + [F9] to toggle the wireless on/off
Hope this helps
Yes indeed – [Fn] + [F9]!
Hello all
It was indeed due to the Windows update and all has been fixed
Thanks for all your help and input – much appreciated
