MemberHi everyone, I have just registered and would like to introduce myself.
I’m Harry and I have just got my new netbook N130, however I would like to know if this particular model has one or two speakers as there is only sould comming from the left channel?
This should be an easy question for starters but I am sure that I will have more soon.
Thanks

Memberthats normal…
due to cost-efficiency Samsung reduced it to one 🙂

MemberDefinitely, I bought an X-mini II speaker for ~£13 from amazon. Excellent little speaker; I use it with my nc10 all the time.

MemberHi guys,
Thanks for the quick replies. I will check out these little speakers, looks really interesting. In the mean time I am using a nice set of headphones.
Cheers

MemberHey guys, hope you don’t mind me tagging a related question on to this thread…
With external speakers connected is the sound comparable to that of an average desktop with the same external speakers fitted? Or in other words, is the poor sound quality and volume on the N130 (and other netbooks) due solely to the weak internal speaker(s) or is there something more complicated that undermines sound performance even with external speakers?
Thanks.
p.s. This forum has already been very useful!

Participantjose – Welcome to the forum
I think you will find it is the speakers that let down the sound quality/reproduction. Trying it out on headphones will show that the amplifier is quite good, so with some good external speakers you should get pleasing results.Hope this helps

MemberThanks jeepers that’s the answer i was hoping for. I’m still trying to decide whether to get an N130, NC10, N140 or possibly a Toshiba NB200 (I know it’s not a Samsung but it does seem pretty good..)
Cheers

Participantjose – Your welcome
Just to clarify, from what I have read both on this forum and others is that users have reported good results with some external speakers. I can confirm that the sound quality though headphones on my NC10 is excellent and they are not particularly good headphones 🙂

Participantjose – Just a thought, you could always take your earphones with you to test out on a shop’s display model 🙂
