GuestI’ve just received a new NetBook for Christmas and have been able to set it up without a challenge; even connected it to the internet, etc.
BUT why does it shut down on it’s own accord; never at a good time either.
Thanks,
Skater

MemberWelcome to the forum skateroo,
If the shutdowns only happen whilst running on battery, have you checked that it is firmly locked in place, and that the contacts are clean?

Participantwhen you say it shuts down do you mean the power just dies and the computer instantly turns off, or does Windows shut itself down where the programs you had open close and you see the shutdown screen?

GuestThe computer just instantly shuts off and then when I turn it back on I see the error message about the fact that Windows closed down. (unfortunately I don’t recall the exact wording) but it’s a black screen with messages, etc.

GuestAnd this happens when it’s also on electric supply.

Participantskateroo – Welcome to the forum
Is there a triggering event or particular application that you suspect is causing the shutdowns ie. is there a common denominator it can be pinned down to or is it random shutdowns.?
Also is it when the sammy is moved or handled?
Is the message you are seeing on Windows boot up saying Windows was not shut down properly?
I expect it is.Hope this helps

GuestI’m not able to notice anything in particular .. it just seems random. Yes, the message that I see when I boot up says that Windows was not shut down properly.

Participantskateroo – It could well be a hardware fault so it may be an idea to restore the system and see if it improves.
Try F4 at boot and carry out Full Restore. You will loose any data and programs you have installed.
If that does not solve it then it maybe time to call Samsung Support. They will no doubt ask you to restore the system which you will be able to report as already done.
Hope this helps and let us know how you get on
btw I didn’t understand your last post about the 2x Black ?

GuestThanks for suggesting this … I’ll discuss doing this with the gift donor but I think he wants to take it back to the US vendor when he returns tomorrow.
The 2x Black is with reference to what I see at the end of your posts .. thought it was a link that I was to go to? Maybe it’s just your signature or ??

Participantskateroo – Yep, it’s just my signature 🙂
Hope the return to the vendor works out for you ok.
