It seems the N120 sold in Hong Kong come with stronger specifications than elsewhere, mine (bought a few days ago) has an Intel Atom N280 processor, 802.11 b/g/n WLAN, Bluetooth v2.1 w/ Enhance Data Rate and a 5900mAh battery!
[/quote1244696649]The one to be sold here in Sweden will also have an Intel Atom N280 processor, 802.11 b/g/n WLAN, Bluetooth v2.1 w/ Enhance Data Rate and a 5900mAh battery 🙂
I’am waiting to get my soon, tomorrow or next week 🙂

[/quote1244758442]Sorry for the delay. It’s a U.S./5200 mAH version.
Cheers

[/quote1252927032]What’s the difference between
802.11b/g WLAN (US ver) and 802.11 b/g/n WLAN? (Hong kong ver)
what does that n represent?September 14, 2009 at 11:35 am #192149RachaelB
Memberthe “n” is a new higher speed wifi protocol
there’s also a difference between usa and european b/g
in the usa they use a different frequency to europe and only have 11 channels available rather than the 13 over hereSeptember 14, 2009 at 12:57 pm #192131jeepers01

Wireless draft n standard increases the data rate from 54 Mbit/s (g) to a maximum of 600 Mbit/s (n) and therefore is much faster. However the speed will fall back to the slowest device speed on the network. ie. 54Mbit/s if you have a ‘g’ device connected.Hope this helps

Which is still quicker than the vast majority of ISP speeds, so the wireless network is unlikely to be the slowest element in your network whilst you are connected to the internet.September 14, 2009 at 10:09 pm #192151Garpa

MemberHi. New to the forum. I’ve had my N120 for about 3 weeks now and having come from a 1st gen Acer that only got about ~2+ hrs, I’m overjoyed with the 5+ hrs this Sammy delivers – and that’s with 100% brightness, and WiFi off most of the time. The Sammy shines in the battery life dept and the principle reason I bought it. Well… my Acer bit the dust too. 🙂 I haven’t run the battery down from a full charge under my typical use, so I can’t say just how long this battery lasts, but I’m happy with the performance so far. IMO long battery life is a top prerequisite for a Netbook, given the utilitarian nature of their usage. I can use it throughout the day, in every room in my home(when using WiFi) and know that I won’t have to worry about plugging in the adapter. I’ve been using it tonight, non-stop for 3+ hrs already and still have 57% battery life still showing. That’s amazing!
I’m a happy Sammy camper.

MemberI know it is wrong thread, but I have a N110. It has 5900mah battery. Running about 6 hours with heavy internet, and vlc player running avi CSI episodes from time to time. 🙂 pretty addictive.
I use Battery Bar to check on the battery life and consumption. I can get a range from 6w all the way to 11w, depending on what application i am on. Most of the time, I think the consumption is 8w +/-. Seems pretty good.
Love this Sammy.
