MemberI just received my N120 from Amazon a few hours ago and I’m absolutely thrilled with it. It’s the first time that I’ve every bought a computer sight unseen but the pro and user reviews were so stellar that I decided to take a risk. It puts every other netbook that I’ve seen in retail stores to shame in terms of appearance and it’s obviously very well designed and constructed. I’ve officially joined the ranks of the true believers! I’m currently getting rid of McAfee as has been recommended both here and elsewhere and I’ll install AVG immediately and then do the Samsung updates. I’m also installing a USB modem so I can use a dialup connection temporarily at home. It’s a TRENDnet which I purchased also from Amazon for under $30. I’ll have to dowload the drivers from the manufacturer’s site though as when I tried to download the bundled software to my other laptop I was warned that it would likely damage it so I quickly cancelled the installation. I was hoping that I could just put it onto a USB drive and transfer it, but it seems that that’s out of the question. I’ll fill everyone in about this soon.

MemberThanks for your reply. For some reason my uninstall of McAfee stalled at the second step. I inevitably had to reinstall it as part of my protection had been deleted and I couldn’t install AVG while some of the suite was still intact. How long did it take you to uninstall McAfee?

MemberIf you want to uninstall McAfee you may be interested in the thread Question about using MCPR.exe to remove anti-virus software. Using the MCPR tool is the only way to be sure to completely remove McAfee.

MemberThanks Jayne-I’ll give that a go on my next attempt in removing it. No luck with the USB modem as yet, but I ordered the Samsung external drive and I’ll try loading it from the CD-ROM when that arrives on Monday. It works like a champ on WIFI of course.
