Just received a n120-13 for xmas… internet seems to hang up quite often. I am on wireless (same set up as my laptop) and I get a better signal than I get on my laptop.
I have XP and installed AVG free (which is the same setup I have on my laptop).
It will lock up on random sites, but, if the site needs a password… it is certain to happen. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated… thanks in advance.Hi dawgfan, welcome to the forum.
I am guessing wildly so forgive my vagueness, as you posed a question after telling half a story. Are you using Firefox, and have you installed the NoScript add-on? If so then you will have to allow some sites to run Javascript to log on to them.
If that is not the case, what browser are you using, and what do you mean by ‘lock up’? Thanks.

No, I am using IE. When I say ‘lock up’ I mean I don’t get taken to the webpage I am looking for… it just stops and thinks, and thinks, and thinks. Sometimes it ends up going to the page, but most of the time it doesn’t.

There are a few things to try, one is here, a walkthrough on Youtube to turn off power saving of the wireless card. Don’t worry that it is for the Aspire One, they use the same card so the instructions are the same.
Another is to open the battery manager in the bottom right tray and try the settings for maximum CPU power on battery.
Also try Firefox to see if you have the same problem.
