MemberThanks Jeepers, I will do the speedtest .But i better not change without Samsung ‘.it is still new and i dont want to loose the garanti .
on intenet explorer , maybe i should tick off something , but it did not help .
Maybe the speed changes as once i was able to open the website from my provider , and most of the time not !…
I will have to solve all these problems soon .
But i have more important problems to deal with now, After it is over , i will let you know all about it . because it is about computers!!! best regards to all of youNovember 21, 2009 at 6:23 pm #200590amsungs
MemberIdid the test it was 3030KB( 378.8KB/persec) download on the Sammy (onmy desktop it is 3954kbps download
and upload was 468(58.50 on sam and 834on desktop
i did the test many times and it changes , but once it was nearly standing still in the beginning of download before taking speed ,
So it is less via the router .Destop is directly connected to ADSL with cable
Have a great evening Tonight a repeat of the old MORSE serie !!November 21, 2009 at 8:04 pm #200562Alfihar
ParticipantWould you be able to explain what you mean by slow?
Is it just that web pages take a long time to load?
Or is it the programs themselves like internet explorer that are slow to load?
If the programs are slow to load do they run slowly after loading? Those internet speed tests indicate that the connection is ok, or at-least it should certainly be fast enough.
If you right click on the taskbar (the bar with the start menu on it) and select Task Manager. On the Performance tab is the CPU usage high? Also is the PF Usage high?

Participantamsungs – It sounds to me to be a browser issue and this may be because you still have the out of the box install of IE. You could try installing Firefox and see how your webmail performs but your internet speed is fine so we can eliminate that as being the problem 🙂
See if Firefox performs better and let us know how you get on
Hope this helps
Oh, and enjoy Morse tonight it’s one of our favorite series too. In fact I think we have seen every episode 🙂

Participantamsungs – Your using Microsoft internet explorer as your web browser at the moment. Firefox is an alternative, more reliable, browser which should help you get your web mail a bit quicker and generally improve your browsing experience.
There is some discussion on installing firefox on Windows XP in this thread link which should help explain how you can have two browsers on the same machine and then choose to use either when you want.
Firefox Dutch version 3.55 download is here
And the English version 3.55 is download is here if you need it
Regarding the PC replacement do you need to change it for another PC or Laptop?
See how you get on with Firefox and hope this helps
BTW you must like Lewis and Kavanagh as well 🙂

MemberI have read about it Thanks .I am very old but never too old to learn .And i usually ask google about forums .I download Firefox,i took away the /eng/and placed /nl/ and it was in Dutch !But my provider is again very slow. I have to phone them about another problem .They are very cheap and very popular maybe that is the reason .!
It is still sooooooslow .Maybe i have to clear away ALL the samsung that came with it .
But dailymail online comes very quick soooo? My desktop will be 6 years old next march , and by then i
will be looking dor something faster , but as a laptop.
My son gave me that advice when he was here as it is easier to take it to the shop to be repaired , if problems .
and my 2 grand children can each have a computer to play !We had a long time ago Kavanagh and also Lewis in Belgium and Holland .Now they have Gentry at times .
All the best to all of you
Take care
heavy rain in England , and here too todayNovember 23, 2009 at 10:33 pm #200578jeepers01
Participantamsungs – It does seem that your email provider has perhaps a slow server and maybe made worse by lots of people accessing it at the same time. Have a chat with them and see if they can offer you any solution, maybe an alternative web address may exist to access your mail. They will know.
Keep us posted
Yes it is a bit wet over here, even bridges are being washed away in the floods, it’s pretty grim in Cumbria 🙁

Are you not allowed to advise about other than Samsung ?
[/quote1259331348]This site is independent, you are welcome to discuss the pros and cons of any make and model :), but obviously most people that pass through here are Samsung netbook owners which does mean it tends to be the focus of attention 🙂
