MemberHello
I love the N120 from the description. However, I am not hearing that folks are very successful with the wifi. How many of you are connecting wirelessly at several locations in your day. I am wondering if its just a few problems. I am not getting that sense. However, lets see some data.
I would buy one tomorrow, but I don’t want to fiddle. I am a plug and play guy. Is the N120 ready for this?gary

MemberI’ve never had a single issue. I’m connected at a conference in DC now, have used several public hotspots and open networks, used Boingo in multiple airports in multiple countries, and connect via wifi exclusively at home.
Flawless.

MemberIt’s a good question because often forums are stuffed full of cases where there have been problems thus giving an unfair representation. I would hope if there was a widespread issue Samsung would be acting to resolve it asap.
How have you N120 owners been getting on?

MemberHi.
I’ve not had any problems with the standard Atheros WiFi card in my N120. At home it connects to a Draytek 2700G and a Belkin N1 without problems. It also co-exists with an Intel 5300AGN card when connected to the Belkin with the Intel on N and the Atheros on G without causing either client any problems. I regularly use a Zyxel router connection at a friends house and have connected to various unknown access points while travelling, again without problem. To be honest, I’ve found the Atheros card to better in some respects than the Intel, the 5300AGN sometimes drops and reconnects with the Draytek and the Atheros seems to be more sensitive than the Intel, if I do a survey using Netstumbler the Atheros normally shows more available connections than the Intel in my Dell lappy.

[/quote1246505880]Realtek is the audio chip, the wifi network adapter is an Atheros. I installed Windows 7 build 7100 from a USB flash drive, and during install it allows you to setup the wireless network and I used WPA2-Personal with AES encryption for the security.

[/quote1246559533]You need to check again that info isn’t correct!
I’ve had no issues and I’ve probably connected to a dozen or more various wireless routers and access points.

MemberThere is a new version with the N280 Atom processor, N draft and Bluetooth 2.1. (Scandinavian model)
This one has the following wireless adapter, Realtek 8192E. So the information about the wifi adapter can be correct.I have the [url=

I also got it to work with a secured network.[MOD EDIT] Long link fixed ~TCMuffin

MemberAhh.. YES I forgot they had released another version. Thanks for the reminder! I hate when these companies do this crap! I’ve never really understood from one country to another why they make changes like this, generally it has been with the batteries, now it seems they are doing it with other components.

MemberI can say that I had problems with WIFI and even if I tried different solutions from suggestions that users gave me I still have problems. Basically when after some time I do not use WIFI, and try to restart using it, WIFI does not respond even if the WIFI would still be connected. I would then get a Timeout and sometimes I would need to repair the WIFI connection.
Is there anyone who can tell me whether I can buy another internal WIFI card rather than the one I got.

The Intel 5300 (probably the best choice) should work fine, as should the Broadcom BCM94321MC (not such a good choice). Various other cards should also work. The internals of the N120 are basically the same as the NC10 so the WiFi card information for the NC10 should be relevant to the N120 as well.
