[N110] Ram for N110

Hi

Been told this when I tried to upgrade ram to 2 gig on N110.

(The information I have on my database shows only 1 slot I’m afraid and that it’s 1 Gb. If you have anything to the contrary I’d be happy to know and quote you accordingly.)

I thought I could have 2 gig.

The N110 has one RAM slot which takes a maximum 2 GB chip.

All netbooks with XP installed ship with only 1 GB RAM because of a Microsoft restriction. All Samsung netbooks have one RAM slot which is capable of taking up and including a 2 GB RAM chip.

Step 1) Buy a 2GB stick
Step 2) Remove 1GB Stick and replace with 2GB stick
Step 3) Store 1GB stick safely incase you have any problems and have to send it back
Step 4) ???
Step 5) Profit

If you’re thinking of upgrading your RAM, you may be interested in Jez’s excellent excellent guide to installing the 2 GB RAM chip and this video guide is also helpful.

Whilst these guides refer specifcally to the NC10, the process for upgrading the N110’s RAM will not be significantly different.

As Alfihar says, make sure you keep the Samsung supplied RAM – if you subsequently have a problem with your N110, Samsung customer services will ask you to reinstall the original memory chip.
